CALL ME AMBITIOUS OR CALL ME CRAZY...I LOVE ART

Artwork is by Suzi Blu...Check her out over at http://www.suiblu.ning.com/

Okay, Call me “Ambitious” or Call me “Crazy” but let it be told that “I LOVE ART” I LOVE CREATING and have to have in my life everyday!
I have decided to take the amazing Workshop that Suzi Blu has provided. I belong to her “Mixed Media With Suzi BluNing Site (See Right Sidebar for more details). This Workshop is for 8 Weeks and I have heard tremendous things about it from other artists that have taken it. I’m really looking forward to this because it will hone my drawing skills (whatever those are, LOL) and my painting skills. However, I did happen to breeze through the supply list and it calls for a wood burning tool…hmmmmm…when that breaks out, I’ll have to schedule a studio date with my girlfriend over at “Wadsworth Noll” her studio is fantastic for breaking out the burning tools, wax, and getting really, really messy! Cheers Trace!

I recommend making a stop over to “Mixed Media with Suzi Blu, even if you don’t take the workshop! The community over there is incredible and lots of fun!

Nostalgia - 1938 Series - New Pieces

Here are some new pieces that I have been working on for my new series entitled "Nostalgia-1938" They are waiting patiently for me to name them! LOL I've signed up for Picnik, a photoshop like software and will be playing around with themes, colors, wording, and special effects. I'll have to make sure I post their new pictures for you to see the craziness going on with them!
These new pieces were sculpted out of polymer clay and went through layer, after layer of acrylic painting. I have started using glass eyes, especially with my polymer clay sculptures. Don't want to put plastic eyes in there...ohhhhh what a mess that was! LOL And the smell....forget it!

Each of these new sculptures stands approx. 7 inches tall. All for the last guy with the pokadot horns. He is approx. 10 inches tall. They are all holding, or if they haven't decided to drop their crow, a sculpted black crow.

This little beauty is wearing a hat that was sculpted out of polymer clay. She wanted one made out of cloth, but I convinced her to go with the clay hat! LOL

I guess this little guy decided he didn't want to hold his Crow!
I also want to thank Sue over at www.bartonorginals.blogspot.com for "TAGGING ME" I promise Sue, I'll post 6 random things about me...once I figure them out! LOL
I hope you all had a good week. We have two more days until Friday and then Play Time.
Have a wonderful evening and I'll see you soon!

Hello everyone! I haven't posted since the OWOH...and boy what a week it has been! I've been having so much fun reading all of your responses, meeting new Bloggers and posting likely crazy on these amazing Blogs and their wonderful GIVEAWAYS! It's been so exciting and overwhelming at the same time!

I want to Thank all of those that have posted for my GIVEAWAY and to let you all know that there is still time to post and get involved with this wonderful event. The drawing won't take place until February 12, 2009, so Good Luck to you ALL!

I have some new projects in the works for my grand opening over at "ARTFIRE" http://www.artfire.com/ and "1000MARKETS" http://www.1000markets.com/, I am hoping to have those shops up and running in a few weeks. I have listed each shop on the sidebar, so you can check in to see what is going on there. I have posted some Eclectic Beings over at 1000 Markets. It is so hard to part with them, but I do know that they will find good homes!

Here are some latest projects that I am currently working on in the studio for a little teaser. The final outcome always amazes me from where they first started! That is the beauty of artwork, it just keeps changing.

This little creature was sculpted out of polymer clay with a wire armature. I am picturing her holding a CROW! I guess she will tell me exactly what she wants...LOL
This little guy...not sure what is going on with him yet. However I do know that it's a "He" and he looks really scared or very upset! LOL

These guys are from my new series entitled "Nostalgia - 1938" You can find some completed pieces in my Etsy Shop.

Here is a beginning of a Painting that I am currently working on. This is a Custom Order that I received from over the Pond (London). I'm picturing a Castle with white caps in the background! hmmmmm I'll have to see!

I hope you enjoyed these little teasers! Have a wonderful night and I will see you soon!

Awards, Awards, Awards...Yes, Three! Oh My

I woke up this morning, had a huge cup of coffee, and started to make my way to my day gig...thinking...oh why can't it be Friday already! Well, I got to work and saw that Caroline from Carolines Crafts (visit her here http://carolinescrafts-carolinejones.blogspot.com) had awarded me with THREE amazing awards! Thank you so much for thinking of me and being an inspiration to us all! Cheers my friend!

First Award: "Your Blog is Fabulous!"
Rules: With this award, you list/post 5 Addictions on your blog and pass it on to 5 fellow bloggers.

Second Award: This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers' aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!

The Rules: you must pass this award to eight (8) fellow bloggers and to include the above text in their blog.

Third Award: The LOVE BLOG's - Spreader of Love
Rules: Post a copy on your blog; Mention who gave you the award; pass the award onto 6 others; Leave a message on their blog letting them know the award has been bestowed upon them!

I recently received this award from Sharon over at http://www.manamon-studios.blogspot.com/ and listed my recipients in a prior post.
Now, I know that getting awards can be very time consuming, so I understand if all cannot participate in spreading the awards. So I am sending all THREE AWARDS to 8 fellow bloggers who I think are just absolutely amazing, not only as artists, but as human beings!
I hope you all enjoy your AWARDS!
Cheers!
