Weekend at The Studio at Crow Haven Farm

I have to say...even for myself...I had a very busy weekend. My girlfriend from Nancye's Art Dolls came over to my house on Saturday and we started working on our Tags that we are involved with over at www.nancyesartdolls.ning.com. Some of the members over there are putting together a Tag Book. The project was to make Tags for everyone that is involved and send them to Nancye so she can make us a Tag Book from all of the participants. Here is what I made...they will be shipped off tomorrow to join the Tag Swap Book...I used Pouting Amelia as my Art Doll...there is just something about her that I absolutely love...may be it's the pout...LOL
Sharyn and I also started working on our Journal Pages for the Art Doll Journal that we are starting over at Nancye's Art Dolls. Unfortunately, we only got a few pages done, but you know me...later that night this is what happened!
Now I am going to show you an extremely cheap and easy way to make your own beautiful journals.

Step One

Take a plain folder (you buy a box of 100 at Staples for 5.00) Make sure you get the heavy weight ones! Punch holes using a three hole punch.

Step 2
Gesso your Folder and let it dry.

Step 3
Start playing and having fun. Use watercolors, acrylics, modeling paste, stamps, inks, pictures, whatever your heart tells you use and put on the page...Just get color on there. It's amazing what happens...I've never been one to journal and when Sharyn showed me this simple way of making journal pages to get over that "BLANK CANVAS" SYNDROME.... Well...Look what happens! LOL

Now, for my Team over at DAG, our Tombstone Challenge is due tomorrow...This is what I created for the Challenge...I really like how she came out. I haven't name her yet...Still hasn't come to me... Usually the names come to me in the wee hours of the morning! LOL

I had to post some pictures that took early this morning as the sun was rising...It's a rainy, foggy, London Day here in Pennsylvania! Great Studio Day! whooohoooo!!!!!

My Farm Boots...now where are Allen's...Oh, yes....he has them on as he is making his way down to see our neighbors new little chicks!

I absolutely love getting up Sunday Mornings, sitting on our porch, drinking my coffee and hearing nothing, but the silence of morning!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend...it's not over just yet. I will be finishing up some other things and then making my way downstairs for some homemade meat sauce...that I can smell from all the way up to my Studio...hehehehehe I hope you enjoyed your stay with me today and have a safe and beautiful Sunday....
Until next time...

My Art Doll Journal Has Arrived

There are no words that I can say about this amazing artist, team member, and an all around clever, amazing, wonderful woman...her name is Eva Buchala from Lady Artisan. Eva designs and creates so many wonderful different types of art work. She is an Art Doll Artist, She creates Sculptures, She designs Jewelry, and she creates and designs JOURNALS! Eva designed my journal for our Travelling Art Doll Project that is making its way to fellow team members from Art Dolls Only (which by the way, I have not received my doll from Dani...hmmmmm, patiently waiting to get my hands on her doll)....LOL ...Well I loved the journal so much that Eva created for me for the Travelling Art Doll Project, that asked her to design another one for me for my Art Dolls Only...Yes, my little whimsical Eclectic Beings ...that's what I call them...and Look what Eva sent me!!!!

Not only will the Eclectic Beings be placed within the pages of this special journal, their stories and little tid-bits of other Art Doll Series that I have or currently creating will be placed within the pages of this journal. I'm really looking forward to this new journey...of journalling, and I look forward to the completed pages so that I can share them with all of you!
If you have not taken a visit over to Eva's shop, please take a moment to visit her and say hello. Her Etsy Shop is located www.LadyArtisan.etsy.com and her website is located at www.LadyArtisan.com.
Thank you again Eva for this very special journal. I will cherish it FOREVER!
Let the Journalling begin! whooohoooo

Weekend WIPs and Little Visitor's In The Studio

Hi everyone...As I'm sitting here posting my Weekend Works In Progress, I'm watching my favorite BBC Show "As Time Goes By." It's off the air now, but we have the entire 9 seasons of this show on DVD, and I have watched them at least 100 times. They never get old and I find them truly peaceful, especially on a Sunday night before I start the Work Week at my Day Gig! LOL So, here is what was cooking in the Studio this weekend...Oh and some little visitor's came bobbing about!

These guys actually have their hands and arms attached, but I took their picture to early...LOL

Big Misguided Deranged Bunny had to jump in here and have his picture taken...I can't control this one! Help Michelle...3rd Eye Muse...He might be making an appearance in Florida very soon! LOL

Hey Remember my Bowling Pin Dolls...Well they are getting a paint job! Let's see if we can also get some party hats made for them...this way they will be dressed for their party!
Hey meet my little visitor...Colleen from LoopyBoopy made him...I Love Him...He was quite upset with me because I wouldn't let him jump in the Black Gesso...LOL

Here are some Tags that I am working on for my Tag Swap that I'm involved in over at Nancye's Art Dolls. I have a lot more work to do on these. I'm glad I have a few weeks to get these completed before I ship them to Nancye so she can put our TAG Books together! I will post my final Tags once I get them done so you all can see them before I send them off!

Here is another visitor that was hanging out in the Glue Sticks Bowl...Dolores from Troll Tracks made this adorable Troll for our ADO Broken Heart Challenge...I snagged her immediately!

Now have you tried this product? Any of you? If you haven't...well...this is coolest thing since sliced bread! LOL It's from Decoart and it's crackle paint texture. This stuff is freaking awesome! It dries really fast and it has great texture. They come in a bunch of colors and I can't believe I didn't grab the pink! LOL I'm using this product on my Tags!
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday...I'm off to have some dinner, a cookie and a BIG GLASS of BEER! Until Next Time...

Monday, Monday...and what did you all do over the WEEKEND?

Well, it was back to work today and I really had to drink tons of coffee to stay awake! LOL Monday's are really hard for me because once I get home from work on Friday night, around 7:00 p.m with a fresh pot of coffee brewed and some snacks, I head up to my Studio and begin my life...I'm there until Sunday night around 8:00 p.m., I pull myself out of my studio, take the Sunday PM Shower (because I know I'm not going to be in any shape to take one Monday Morning), and get ready for the work week ahead of me in Bethlehem...the Christmas City!
I thought I would share some of the pieces that I was working on this weekend, and some of the pics from my workshop that I'm taking with Suzi Blue... I haven't even started the Rodeo Girl Workshop...I'm still working on the 2nd week of practice sketching...LOL Oh well... At least I'm trying...right? LOL

These little ornaments are still in the works!

I'm also working on some more of the Misguided/Deranged Love Bunny...LOL

Here is a bigger version of the "Misguided/Deranged Love Bunny"

This piece I'm working on for our DAG Team Mini-Challenge "Tombstone" which is due in 2 weeks. I'm hoping to get her completed by this weekend!

We must not forget the fact that I am the ultimate "Art Magazine Junkie" so I had to rip through the pages of my new Mags I received in the mail on Saturday! Thank Goodness for Postal Service! LOL

I'm taking Suzi Blu's Workshop Les Petit Dolls 1 and also the Rodeo Girl Workshop... Needless to say, I'm still on Les Petit Dolls 2nd week...I'm so glad that we are able to download the Videos and go at our own pace...because if not....well, let's just say that everyone would be on her 10th Workshop! LOL
I wanted to take Suzi Blu's Workshop because I can't draw for crap...so this is a great Workshop for beginners (like me)... If you haven't stopby her website, especially if you love mixed-media painting and drawing you must check it out! I've learned a lot from watching her videos and she makes it fun...Thank goodness she encourages you to take your time to PRACTICE!

Well, I'm off to make some dinner...how about some Buffalo Wings and a few pints of beer!

Have a wonderful evening! Until next time...

There is surprise at the end of the show...make sure you leave a comment and a giggle! I will be randomly picking on Sunday, a winner for my giveaway!

Now, how did Gerdie and Victoria get in there? The *~*BIG TOP*~* is Opening their Show..."The Keeper of the Dance" is ready to start the Show...grab some POPCORN, COTTON CANDY, HOT DOG on a stick...and don't forget your DRINKS!

Suzi Q from Poland and Gert from England are waiting patiently to sell tickets...Let's hope the EBs don't stampede them!

Felicia FanDango-Frenzy Fool of the Dance is pointing to her little EB friends..."No we have to enter over there." Let's find out if they listened to her!

Well, I guess they did...all waiting in line ...wait a minute...How did Giggling Isabella and Summer Blossom get to the head of Ticket Line?...Where is Felicia FanDango?

Farushka Frecklestein-The Foxy Fashion Forecaster and Funny Bunny Muriel-The Hareiss of Rabbitry are just leaving their houses to meet up with the rest of their EB friends...From the looks of things, I believe the Carnival has started on their block!

Pouting Amelia is leading Nelson, Webster, Gerdie and Victoria over to have their fortune's told...let's see what "April" finds in her Crystal Ball...it better be something good...I would not want to upset Pouting Ameila ...by the look on her face! LOL Miss April says ...Good Health, Good Fortune, Good Love To All...and "Don't eat all of the Cotton Candy and Green Olives"...giggle...giggle...giggle...

Well, well, well...if it isn't Felicia FanDango...already starting the Carnival Soiree with Crow in Plaid...hmmmm...what have they been up to? Oh...I see they have been getting Pony Rides from Mr. Crow himself!
I see the Nostalgia Series - 1938 are standing outside of the "Haunted House" ...hmmm..I don't think they are at the Haunted House, they are way too busy playing games! LOL
Okay, I think Gustant had a little too much to drink...his mask is upside down for heaven sakes! He is suppose to be serving the drinks, not drinking them himself! giggle, giggle, giggle, burp!

Looks like everyone is enjoying themselves with games, food, and the rides. I wonder what they are discussing...Seems like Crow in Plaid is paying close attention to what Farushka Frecklestein and Funny Bunny Muriel are saying!

I think "Hilga from Austria needs to take a little break...looks like she is all tuckered out! Oh, but look at how cute she is in her little party dress and crown! The Crown was made by Melissa, The Holiday Queen!

Giggling Isabella and Summer Blossom are chatting about today's festivities over a spot of tea...now where are the custard tarts!

The Carnival Fairy has cast her spell to help all of the EBs and their little friends to fall asleep after their eventful day at *~*The Carnival Soiree*~*

As the night falls upon us...The EBs and all of their new little friends are heading home to their beds...their tummies full, their hearts happy...and dreaming of the next party that they will attend!
