Sewing Curtains...Preparing For A Cold Winter...burrrrrr

Well...it's that time of year where we are getting our homes ready for the cold winter that is heading our way! I have spent the weekend preparing our many windows in our house! I have made 18 Panels for 9 WINDOWS so far and still have 2 more WINDOWS to go...but ran out of fabric! LOL Man you would think 18 Yards would have been enough! LOL
Here are some pictures of fabric, the sewing station ready to go and the process in which I have been spending most of my time trying to get these bloody things hung up and done!
Here is a great shot of the pattern in the fabric. I just love how they came out!

Pinning is what takes the most time! I wish I had some help with this...hmmmm Did I just see Zan flying on her pig over my house...I thought so! LOL

Look at how they hang. This fabric was a great choice for our home. However, it's really dark in here now...I'm going to have stock up on some candles so we can see! LOL

You can't really see them hanging here...I told you it's dark in here now!
Well, I'm off to buy more fabric for the last 2 curtains that I have to make. Once I'm done with these...it's back in the STUDIO FOR ME to whip up some more Halloween, Creepy Witches. I hope you all have a wonderful and creative weekend!
UNTIL NEXT TIME
CHEERS!

Oh wow, you have to prepare curtains for winter...they're lovely, but what work! It's going to be in the lower 80's today...but I live in far West TX...in the desert, so we don't get much cold weather. My husband was offered a job in Denver, but we didn't want any part of that cold...no thanks....we're like a couple of lizards who like to lie on a rock and soak up the heat!!! Now there's a visual!!! LOL

Get thyself back into your happy place and have fun...have a great weekend.

I love big heavey drapes. But mostly I use those in the summer here cuz the heat in TX can make the AC run like constantly...So Sun and lots of it in the windows in the winter cooler months...Dark and heavey in the summer. LOL Funny how its opposite in different regions.

In my studio I made quilts as window curtains. I did it just for run, because I wanted quilts with leaves on the windows during hte winter, and it turned out that they made the room so warm! It really made a huge difference :-)

p.s. I received your letter today! Woo hoo! Should be sending the first one out on Monday!

What a gorgeous fabric. I made all the curtains for my house, and last year, when I started sewing for the last room, the den, I tried to assign a window to each memeber of the family. Needless to say, they didn't buy into it! I don't enjoy making curtains, but I DO like saving the money, and I'm always pleased with the results because I love to choose my own fabrics. I think yours turned out great.

Girlie, those are some FANTABULOUS curtains!
Wait-a-minute! You assume I sew because of the dollies, but there is mostly a whole lotta cursing and praying during that process! However, I'll come on up for a sewing project anytime!! :)

Hey when you gonna come down here? Halloween would be great..you'd show these NYC yahoos how it's really done! ;)
